Support Educator for Northern Inner City Group Home LSS

The Northern Inner City area support and service for disabilities provides interventions according to LSS.
We provide services to adults with disabilities. Our mission is to offer support and service based on individual needs and wishes, and we actively work to promote equality and full participation in community life for our tenants. The work is characterized by a pedagogical approach, a structured working method, and a low-arousal and respectful attitude towards tenants and colleagues.
We are now looking for a support educator to work at the Northern Inner City's group home LSS.

Your role
In the role of support educator, you will guide and implement pedagogical methods and be responsible for their development in collaboration with management. You will serve as a sounding board for other employees in the workgroup to develop working methods and guide colleagues in writing implementation plans. You will continuously update yourself on pedagogical and evidence-based knowledge and inform the workgroup about this. Your tasks also include searching, sorting, gathering, and disseminating facts, information, and new findings of significance. You will also participate in the daily tasks at the group homes. The service is staffed around the clock, so you will work on a schedule that includes morning, evening, and every other weekend work. The services have awake night shifts.
In the role of support educator, your primary responsibility is to support tenants in their daily lives in the way that each individual needs. The support is individually tailored to provide residents with a safe home and opportunities to develop based on their circumstances. The starting point is that interventions in the home are carried out together with the residents to contribute to development and independence.
Activities outside the home are part of the work as the support educator sometimes accompanies residents on various leisure activities.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- Education as a support educator from a vocational college, 200 points
- Good computer skills and experience in documenting according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS).
- Experience working with target groups of people with intellectual disabilities
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in the profession as a support educator
- Knowledge of low-arousal responses
- Knowledge of self-harming behavior
- Knowledge of mental health issues

You understand how to adapt your working methods to the person and situation and have a respectful approach with good empathetic ability. You are development-oriented, good at collaborating, but also capable of taking responsibility and working independently. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
To work with the elderly and persons with disabilities in their homes at the City of Stockholm, you must provide an extract from the criminal record.
